Rice injury in Tottenham match not serious

Tests have confirmed that Arsenal’s midfielder, Declan Rice, did not sustain a significant back injury during Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham.

The English international, who has been a consistent starter in all league matches this season, was replaced at halftime.

Following the match, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta mentioned that Rice had experienced “back discomfort” and expressed his hope that it wouldn’t turn out to be a long-term issue.

Rice, who was a high-profile £100 million signing in the summer, wasn’t initially expected to be included in Arsenal’s Carabao Cup squad for their match against Brentford on Wednesday.

However, the 24-year-old may now be in contention to play in their upcoming Premier League fixture against Bournemouth on Saturday. It’s worth noting that Arsenal currently sits in fifth place in the Premier League, trailing leaders Manchester City by four points.
